Gergő graduated as a biologist at Eötvös Loránd University and then awarded a Ph.D. degree in taxonomy and systematics at the same institution in 2012. He worked as a researcher at the Centre for Ecological Research (Vácrátót) for nearly seven years. During this time, he was a visiting academic at INRAE (France), Université de Neuchâtel (Switzerland), and London Natural History Museum (UK) for shorter periods. Since 2017, he has been teaching zoology and ecology-related subjects at the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (formerly Szent István University, Gödöllő). Alongside teaching, he also supports the research of students and the operation of the Zoology College for Advanced Studies. Gergő loves running, hiking, climbing mountains, gardening, and after that, reading to relax.
