Masha (Mitya) holds a PhD degree in Comparative Gender Studies from Central European University; they have studied philology at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine, and completed short research stays at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and Södertörn University, Sweden, as part of their PhD studies. Masha’s research interests focus on literary masculinities and literary bodies, from Russian avant-garde literature and philosophy of the 1930s to contemporary Ukrainian fanfiction. Beyond that, Masha is interested in a broad array of topics, ranging from mediaeval heresies and the fairy belief in folklore to puppetry and contemporary viral prose. In their free time, Masha enjoys drawing and painting, watching silly things, and long forest walks.
