The module is organized around fundamental topics of social sciences such as deviance, class and modernity. During the sessions we will discuss these classic themes by interpreting both original articles from sociological classics and chapters from Giddens’ Sociology textbook. The sessions are organized around key theoretical and methodological concerns of these wide topics with the aim of pointing out the bridges and interrelations of these areas of social scientific scholarship and research. By the active participation in the modules students will gain insight into the basic methodological and theoretical approaches in social sciences.
