This module aims to give an in-depth exposure to advanced topics in the field of psychology, including but not limited to memory, language, intelligence, social cognition, attachment, and select concepts in neuroscience. Some key studies in these areas of research will be covered to deepen the student’s understanding of the empirical nature of the field of psychology as well as various research methods utilized to explore these. Additionally, by the end of the module, students should be able to formulate and explore their own research questions as assessed by an independently written research proposal. This module is open to all students who are curious about the experimental study of human behavior and cognition, and is particularly suitable for students who are interested in pursuing further education in psychology. Students interested in related fields such as natural sciences are also welcome.
