National Debate Qualifiers

Registration for 2021 show debate is open!

Every year the Milestone Institute presents Hungarian students with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to debate the brightest minds within the historical walls of the University of Oxford and Cambridge. The Milestone Debating Society offers an introductory and preparatory program free of charge to all students interested in participating in the prestigious competitions of Oxford Schools and ICYD. Besides preparation, the Institute also hosts the National Qualifiers and opens up their debate coaching sessions for the qualified teams. No prior debating experience needed to attend the sessions and the Qualifiers.

Show Debate and Debating Culture in Education – 9th January,2021

The Milestone Institute’s Debating Society cordially invites prospective students and teachers to witness a stimulating Show Debate and an interactive presentation about Debating Culture in Education on 9th January, 2021. We welcome everyone with an interest in the work of the Institute, debating, and Social Sciences. Guests shall have the chance to watch a debate by the Debating Society members who recently competed at the Zagreb Winter Holidays Open and then hear from András Balázsy about the importance of argumentative skills. At the Show Debate, you shall also have the opportunity to learn more about the upcoming Oxford Schools and ICYD National Qualifiers to be held online by the Institue in 2021. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the event will be held online.

16.00 – 17.00 – Debating Culture in Education by András Balázsy, Debating Coach, Milestone Institute
