The aim of this module is to showcase the possibilities of 3D printing, present the ever increasing use-cases of the technology and through rapid-prototyping allow the students to design and implement a physical solution to a problem in their immediate surroundings. Students will use an online design software to create the digital model of their objects that will be printed and delivered to them. They will learn about design considerations for different 3D printing methods to ensure their design is printable. The module is suitable for students with no or limited knowledge in the topic. The module is recommended for any students that are interested in problem-solving, design or self-expression.
