This has been the rythm of the history of architecture for thousands of years. We are surrounded by layers upon layers of built environment and now, more than ever are trying to find a way to harmonize these layers with our natural surroundings. This course invites you to explore this rythm of deconstruction and reconstruction, train your eye for architecture, and create your first design.
Throughout the course you’ll be expected to explore the urban environment surrounding Milestone Institute, in the middle of the 7th district; to get immerse yourself in urbanism and architectural theory; to try your hand an sketching your environment and train your spatial awareness; and work on your first design connected to Milestone’s building.
If you are thinking about going into Architecture, Urbanism, Design or Art History this is the module for you! As this is an Immersion 2 module count with a lot of preparation time; and expect to be challanged in multiple areas in diverse ways, i.e. through theory, through visual design, through presentation, through group work, and to reac to each others’ works through Canvas’ Discussions feature.
