The aim of the module is to raise interest in space travel and the scientific and engineering approach needed to visit and then colonize Mars. Students get an insight into the complexity of space travelling. On the one hand, we study the human body and its needs that should be considered in a space mission. On the other hand, based on the principal laws of classical mechanics, the orbit, the time and the technological requirements of the spacecraft carrying humans are introduced and applied to a visionary mission to Mars.
