The aim of the module is to provide an introduction to the study of political conflicts. In the first part (classes 1-3) we will focus on conceptualising and grasping the theoretical relevance of political conflicts in general. In the second part (classes 4-8) we discuss ethno-nationalist conflicts in particular. Here, greater emphasis will be put on empirical cases. The module is suitable for students wishing to engage with Political Science, Political Theory, Nationalism Studies, and to a lesser extent, Sociology.
