Writing is telling stories. Writing is telling your story. Writing is a scary blank page. Writing is waiting. Writing is deleting. Writing is rewriting. Writing is listening. Writing is paying attention. Writing is work. Writing is a daily activity. Writing is action. Writing is being alone with yourself. Writing is talking to others. Writing is showing yourself to the world. Writing is risk. Writing is escape. Writing is about real questions. Writing is play. Writing is pain. Writing is joy. Writing is flow.

Students will also submit more structured pieces and will read the writings of fellow students.

This way, the module will take you on a journey of reflective close reading, turning the insights gained into practical writing assignments. We will discuss and experiment with point of view, character building, voice, motivation. Further topics include experimenting with narrative rhythm and creating a narrative arch.
