The aim of this module is to showcase the possibilities of 3D printing, present the ever-increasing use cases of the technology and, through rapid prototyping, allow students to design and implement a physical solution to a problem in their immediate surroundings. Students will use online design software to create digital models of their objects, which will then be printed and delivered to them. They will learn about design considerations for different 3D printing methods to ensure their designs are printable. The module is suitable for students with no or limited knowledge of the topic. It is recommended for any students interested in problem-solving, design or artistic self-expression.
