The aim of this module is to build a robotics project. Students participating get hands-on experience in both hardware and software sides. This includes building and fixing the setup, designing extension elements. We will discuss handling noise in data, signal processing, integrating new elements into an existing project, and learn about sustainable software development for complex projects.
In this Robotics Lab, we are going to build a physical home security system. Starting with an arduino attached to a passive infrared sensor and minimal controlling logic, each week we extend the set of sensors and actuators and develop the software in parallel. Participants are required to present their ideas to extend the system, and work in a group implementing them.
