Ventures
Ventures is a Freshman module where students are introduced to various business concepts and encouraged to think critically about situations and creatively about solutions. It is not just about being successful but understanding why some ventures work out and others do not, the contexts in which certain decisions lead to better outcomes, and the changing landscape that forces flexibility.
Through teamwork, discussions, and investing in others’ ventures, students develop their skills and build their business, gaining insight into different areas such as market research or what makes a strong brand identity. Collaboration is key but so is the ability and willingness for students to think for themselves and ask questions, whether they can be answered definitively or not.
By the end of the module, students will gain familiarity with basic concepts and learn to recognise patterns, structure their findings and thoughts, and present them in a compelling way.
Ventures is the place for ideas, development, and execution to come together to form the full picture — and for students to learn how to sell their vision.
