APPLICATION AND ADMISSION

The Milestone Institute’s programmes are open to students from all backgrounds regardless of subject interests. Through the admission procedure, the Institute aims to select those students who are best suited to make the most of the Milestone educational programme and who are equipped to become valuable members of the Milestone alumni community. APPLICATION AND ADMISSION PROCESS FOR THE CORE AND ACCESS PROGRAMMES:

  • If successful

    Application (5 March 2023)

    • Complete the online application form in English
    • Payment of a one-time non-refundable application fee of HUF 15 000
    • Submission of the application for the a scholarship and/or Fellowship*

    *Applications for Scholarships and/or Fellowships must be submitted separately by the deadline.

  • If successful

    Written exam

    • Three-part test in English
    • One day (morning or afternoon)
    • To be written in person in the Institute**

    **In exceptional cases (e.g. if the student is studying abroad during the academic year), online participation in the written admission test and/or interview will be provided. Please contact us within 24 hours of submitting your application with your request at admissions@msinst.org

  • If successful

    Interview

    • 20-25 minute English conversation
    • In person at the Institute**

  • Admission to the Milestone Institute***

    ***At the end of the admissions process, applicants may be offered a place in a programme type that is different from the one the applicant applied for. For example, students who applied for the Core Programme may be offered a place in the Access Programme instead. In these cases, the Admissions Committee always considers the applicant’s best interest and offers a place in the programme type most beneficial for the student.

End-of-year report in pdf format (copy of original or downloaded from Kréta).

*It is the responsibility of the applicant to convert grades awarded according to a non-Hungarian system. Only the grade average converted into the Hungarian system should be indicated on the application form.

DETAILS OF THE ADMISSIONS

 

Written test in English

(Successful applicants are invited to the written test)

 

How and what does it measure?

Approximately 2 and a half hours

Components:

  1. Thinking and problem-solving skills assessment
  2. English language test
  3. Essay writing task to assess writing skills

How to prepare for it?

Reading articles, academic journals and books in English

Expanding vocabulary

Writing opinion essays (e.g. based on articles read)

Learning to use logic and problem-solving tests (e.g. Problem Solving test video)

 

Interview in English

(Successful candidates are invited to the interview after the written test)


How and what does it measure?

Around 20-25 minutes of discussion

Components:

  1. Discussion of the video received before the interview
  2. Discussion of the candidate’s interests, goals and achievements

How to prepare for it?

Expand existing knowledge on current public issues and/or disciplines of interest (e.g.
through English-language documentaries, articles)

Watch the video more than once before the interview!
