We hold regular face-to-face Open Days at our Institute. Our Open Days consist of an hour-long presentation and panel discussion followed by an extensive Q&A session to address any questions you may have. The event gives you a chance to visit the Institute, soak up the Milestone atmosphere and meet with a member of our faculty, staff, and alumni of the programme.

Solve a biomedical case! Biomedical engineering presentation class -13:00-14:30

What is genetic engineering? Us humans have modified the genetic material of countless animals and plants through selective breeding, so how exactly is genetic engineering different from that? What are possibilities and limitations of the new genetic engineering tools that have been recently developed? What are the risks and concerns? These are the questions that we address during the Genetic Engineering module through a lot of discussions and examples from real life.

Meet the mentors – advising – 14:30-15:30

Mentoring is a diverse and complex task with a well-defined goal: to help students find and achieve their path. Mentoring includes academic advising, coaching, keeping up motivation, and listening. In our panel discussion, the Institute’s mentors give advice to students embarking on a journey of self-discovery and talk about what obstacles they have to overcome to achieve their goals. Whether you are a parent or a student, you can be sure to take away useful knowledge from the experiences our mentors share.

A discussion with our Institute’s teachers and student recruitment colleagues about Milestone admissions and studies. Is being a Milestone student hard or easy? How can we help our children in their career orientation?

Solve an ethical dilemma! – 14:45-15:30

Thought experiments provide an excellent opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of people’s values and the weight and consequences of our decisions, while exploring the fundamental questions of ethics, morality and philosophy. Imagine you are a member of a species on another planet, very similar to humans, facing a critical decision: you can choose to hold on to the population’s consciousness and memories, accepting inevitable extinction, or you can lose your creativity and thousands of years of culture for an alternative energy source that will ensure the survival of your species. What would you choose?

How to write a personal statement! – 14:45-16:00

How to write a university cover letter? What is absolutely essential and what is often unnecessary? Our senior tutors will guide you with a steady hand and help you get started with a letter and tell you what differences to look out for when applying to different countries.

How to get admitted to a university abroad? – panel discussion – 16:00-16:45

You’ve always been interested in studying abroad, maybe you’ve already done some research, but need some advice? Come and ask our education experts without taboos!
Studying abroad can be challenging: the road to getting an offer from a university abroad can be bumpy and there are many obstacles to overcome. Our education expert will explain how to get started on this challenging journey, will give you useful advice on choosing a course, destination country and university, and will explain what to look out for in each university when applying.

Solve a business case! – Trial lesson – 13:00-14:30

Ventures(s)! Is a cooperative learning experience in which students in teams of three to four manage FORTUNE 500 companies in a simulated business environment. During the one and a half hour session, teams face business and societal challenges and have to find solutions together.

Are you ready to embark on a captivating journey into the realms of politics, social sciences, economics, and the history of ideas? Our exclusive workshop, inspired by our renowned Civilizations course, is designed to offer an immersive and engaging learning experience. Dive headfirst into a cooperative, game-based, and entertaining learning adventure. You’ll get to experience the highs and lows of governance, just like real leaders. As leaders of your state, you’ll face a range of historical problems and challenges. Your responsibility is to craft effective solutions.

What inspired the foundation of the Institute? What economic and social factors influenced and motivated the founders? Have they succeeded in fulfilling the vision they have hadű?
Thirteen years in the making, the founders of the Institute have overcome many obstacles to create a school for talented young people with more than 400 students.
