We want talented and motivated students to be able to go as far as their potential can take them, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Our mission is to support thoughtful young people who can later shape their own communities and the world around them. That requires a community where students with different backgrounds and experiences can learn together.
Through our scholarship system, we support students for whom paying the full tuition fee would create significant financial difficulty. We also recognise and support outstanding achievement.
Available in every year of the Core Program for families for whom paying the full tuition fee would represent a significant financial burden.
Planning scenarios for 2027/28 assume an average tuition support rate of 30–45% for needs-based scholarships. Support is awarded for one academic year and can be applied for again each year.
New students can apply together with their admissions application, while continuing students apply through a separate scholarship application.
The level of support is determined by Milestone’s Scholarship Committee, taking into account the applicant’s financial circumstances, the scholarship budget available for the given year and the applications received.
Alongside Milestone’s own scholarship, targeted partner-funded support is also available.
Support funded from Milestone Institute’s own scholarship budget. Eligibility requires a complete needs-based scholarship application.
For students eligible for needs-based support who have lived in Budapest’s District VII for at least one year or attend a secondary school in District VII.
Support offered by West London Synagogue for talented Hungarian Jewish students in financial need, in cooperation with Lauder Javne School.
Co-funded support with the Bulgarian National Self-Government for students who are active in the Bulgarian minority community.
The Bridge Scholarship creates opportunities for talented young people who face educational disadvantage because of their Roma background or social circumstances. Provided eligibility continues and programme requirements are met, support may continue across multiple academic years.
For supporting outstanding academic performance and active contribution to the community.
The Merit Scholarship is available to both new and continuing Core Program students. Planning scenarios for 2027/28 assume an average tuition support rate of 60–70%. Support requires consistently high performance throughout the year both at secondary school and at Milestone, as well as active commitment to the Institute’s values and community.
Both new applicants and students already studying at Milestone can apply for a scholarship.
The information and documents required for the scholarship application must be submitted together with the admissions application.
After the application is submitted, eligibility for an award is conditional on successfully completing the current Milestone programme year.
The first step is an administrative review of the application. If documents are missing, additional documentation may be requested, so it is worth starting to prepare the application in good time.
Every application is assessed individually.
For needs-based scholarships, the Scholarship Committee considers factors including monthly household income per person, regular expenses related to health circumstances, the distance between the student’s home and Milestone, and other relevant social circumstances.
For successful applications, the level of support is also influenced by the scholarship budget available for the year and the number of applications received. A successful Bridge Scholarship application provides a full tuition waiver.
Opportunity should matter. Not a family’s financial circumstances.
We expect scholarship recipients to meet the requirements of their Milestone programme year, take an active part in student life, and participate in programmes organised by the Institute for scholarship students.
The detailed conditions are set out in the scholarship call and guidance for the relevant academic year.
If paying the full tuition fee would be difficult, it is worth submitting a scholarship application. The Scholarship Committee reviews every application received.
