Melinda Dabis

Mentor

Melinda is a scholar, researcher and educator, her interests span various areas, and she is always ready to learn new things, but professionally she is engaged in literary and political theory. Her research encompasses topics such as the role and representation of memory, postcolonialism and Central Europe, science diplomacy and the Arctic. She earned her MA degrees in English and German literature, linguistics and culture and her PhD in literature at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, and her MA in International Relations at CEU. She is a trained conference interpreter (EMCI) and translator, with English, German and Hungarian as working languages. Thanks to various scholarships, she has visited universities in Germany, the UK and the US; and regularly gives talks at international conferences. Having more than a decade long higher education teaching experience and several years of mentoring experience, she enthusiastically assists students in exploring their academic interests. In her free time, she enjoys short and long hikes.
